Privacy

Best UK Picks is run by the Hitchens Group, a UK small business. This page explains, in plain English, what we do and do not collect when you visit.

The short version

We do not set cookies, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build a profile of you. We do not ask for or store your name, email address or any other personal detail unless you choose to contact us.

What we measure, and how

  • When you click a "View on Amazon UK" button, your browser sends us a small, anonymous signal that records only which page the click came from and which product button was used. It contains no cookie, no identifier and nothing personal, and it cannot be tied back to you.
  • We use this to understand which guides and products readers find useful, so we can improve the guides. That is the only reason it exists.
  • Like almost every website, our web server keeps standard access logs (including the requesting IP address) for security and troubleshooting. These are held only for a short period and are not used to identify or track individuals.

Amazon and other retailers

When you click through to Amazon or another retailer, you leave this site and that retailer's own privacy policy and cookies apply. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases; see our affiliate disclosure for how that works. We never see your payment details or what you buy at an individual level.

Your control

Because we do not set cookies or store personal data, there is nothing to opt out of and no profile to delete. If you would still prefer your clicks were not counted, your browser's Do Not Track setting and standard content blockers will stop the anonymous click signal described above.
